Lindblad Expeditions: Northwest Passage bound
After writing so much about the Arctic and paddling a few of its rivers, I am ready to realize a dream: “For just one time, I would take the Northwest Passage . . . “
This summer, I’ll be a naturalist for Lindblad Expeditions’ National Geographic Explorer on a 25-day voyage from west to east through the famed passage that inspired so many explorers and claimed so many lives. We’re going the whole way.
I’m thrilled to be joining this ship again. I was part of the expedition staff for her inaugural voyages through Iceland, Greenland and the eastern part of the Northwest Passage in 2008.
Though I will not be searching for gold and glory, as Stan Rogers sang, our ship will indeed trace “one warm line.” If you want to come, I’ll see you in Kugluktuk.
